Save your AI prompts as snippets and say them in a few words.

Last checked 4th October 2026

If you use the same prompts again and again, such as a code review, an email rewrite or a summary, you shouldn't have to type them out, or say them in full, every time. Save each one as a Voktik snippet. Then say a short phrase such as "my code review prompt", and the whole prompt goes into ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or any other text box.

Save a prompt as a snippet

  1. Open Snippets and select Add snippet.
  2. Under When you say, type a short phrase, for example "my code review prompt".
  3. Under Voktik types, paste or type the full prompt. Line breaks are kept, up to 4,000 characters.
  4. Save.

Now click in the AI chat's message box, hold Ctrl+Win, say "my code review prompt", and let go. The whole prompt goes in exactly as you saved it. Clean-up never changes a snippet's text, whatever style you're in.

Add the details as you go

Snippets work anywhere in a dictation, not only on their own. So you can say the details and the phrase in one go:

"The file is the checkout page, and I'm worried about the error handling. My code review prompt."

Your own words are tidied as usual, and the saved prompt goes in after them, unchanged. A prompt of several lines starts on a line of its own.

If a phrase is something you also say in everyday speech, open that snippet and switch off Also mid-sentence. It then only works when the phrase is all you say.

Four prompts worth saving

Copy any of these into Voktik types and change them to suit you.

Code review: "my code review prompt"

Review this code as a careful senior developer would. Look for bugs, security problems, unclear names and anything that will be hard to maintain. For each problem, say where it is, why it matters and how to fix it. Don't rewrite the whole file, and don't change anything that already works.

Email rewrite: "my email rewrite prompt"

Rewrite the email below so it's clear, polite and to the point. Keep every fact, date and name exactly as it is. Use British spelling, short paragraphs and no more than 150 words. Don't add anything I haven't said. Give me the rewritten email only.

Summary: "my summary prompt"

Summarise the text below for someone who hasn't read it. Start with the main point in one sentence, then give up to five bullet points with the key facts, decisions and next steps. Keep names, numbers and dates exactly as written. Flag anything that's unclear or missing.

Explain it: "my explain prompt"

Explain this to me as if I'm new to the subject. Give me a one-line answer first, then the detail in plain English, then one example. If there are several ways to do it, tell me which you'd choose and why. If anything I've asked is unclear, ask me before you answer.

Free and Pro

  • Three snippets are free. More is Pro. On the free plan, any beyond the first three show Paused on the free plan.
  • Snippets don't use up your free words.
  • Each snippet's text can be up to 4,000 characters, and each phrase up to 60.

Tips for prompt snippets

  • Pick phrases you won't say by accident. "My code review prompt" is safer than "review". Voktik warns you when a phrase is a single word.
  • Keep the saved prompt general, and add the specifics by voice each time.
  • Say the phrase clearly, as one piece. It has to match the words you saved.
  • A phrase can't also be a dictionary word. One phrase can't mean two things.

FAQ

Do snippets work in ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor?

Yes. A snippet types into whatever text box your cursor is in, the same as any dictation.

Does the AI prompt style change my saved prompt?

No. Clean-up never changes a snippet's text, whatever the style. Only the words you say around it are tidied.

How many snippets can I have?

Three on the free plan, and as many as you like on Pro. Each can be up to 4,000 characters.

What if I say the phrase without meaning to?

Switch off Also mid-sentence for that snippet. It then only works when the phrase is all you say.
