Get names and jargon right, and type long text in three words.
Last checked 1st October 2026
Voice typing gets common words right and trips over the unusual ones: a client's surname, your product's name, your team's jargon. Add each one to Voktik's Dictionary once, and it's spelled your way every time after. And with Snippets, a short phrase such as "my address" types the whole thing.
Add a word to your dictionary
- Open Dictionary and select Add word.
- Under Written as, type the word the way it should appear, for example "Niamh".
- Under Often misheard as, add what Voktik typed instead, if you know it, for example "Neve". You can add up to 10.
- Save. Your next dictation uses it.
The dictionary is free, with no limit on the number of words, and it works even with Clean-up switched off.
Quicker: fix it from History. Open History, select the misheard word in a dictation, and add the right spelling from there.

How the dictionary works
Voktik uses your dictionary twice. Before it listens, it tells the speech service which words to expect. After, it swaps any misheard form you've listed for the right spelling.
Only about 45 words fit in the first step, so a very long dictionary marks the rest Not listened for. Those words are still corrected afterwards from their misheard forms. Sort by Most used to keep the words you say most at the top.
Snippets: say a phrase, type the whole thing
A snippet is text you type often: your address, a sign-off, a meeting link, a standard reply.
- Open Snippets and select Add snippet.
- Under When you say, type the phrase, for example "my address".
- Under Voktik types, type the full text. Line breaks are kept.
- Save.
Now say "my address" and the full address goes in, exactly as you saved it. Clean-up never changes a snippet's text.
On its own or mid-sentence. Saying just the phrase always works. With Also mid-sentence switched on, which it is to start with, it also works inside a longer sentence: "send it to my address please".
Three snippets are free. More is Pro. On the free plan, any beyond the first three show Paused on the free plan. Snippets don't use up your free words.
FAQ
Is the dictionary free?
Yes, in full, with no limit on the number of words.
Why is a word marked "Not listened for"?
Only about 45 dictionary words go to the speech service with each dictation. The rest are still corrected from the misheard forms you've listed.
Can a snippet phrase also be a dictionary word?
No. One phrase can't mean two things, so if a word is already in your dictionary, Voktik won't save it as a snippet phrase too.
How many snippets can I have?
Three on the free plan, and as many as you like on Pro. Each can be up to 4,000 characters.
